In a report released by U.S. News and World Report, the profession of Nurse Practitioner (NP), also know as advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), ranked #2 in The 100 Best Jobs. The median salary for an NP is $98,190, with a 0.7% unemployment and 44,700 jobs in the United States, making it one of the most in-demand jobs on the market. Nurse practitioners have many of the same capabilities as physicians, such as performing physical exams, prescribing medicines, and authorizing treatments.
