To put it short and sweet, more men in nursing = better men’s health. That’s what Dr. Kenneth Dion, Assistant Dean for Business Innovation and Strategic Relationships, had to say.
The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing kicked off men’s health week 2019 on social media with a flurry of encouraging words to the men in nursing at Johns Hopkins and beyond, followed up with some fast facts about men’s health, and concluded with a school-wide wear blue awareness photo. Don’t forget the nurse dads feature coming for Father’s day.
Here are some facts:
- 1 in 3 military nurses are men
- Men are less likely to be insured
- Men are less likely to use preventative health services
So #ShowUsYourBlue! Let’s raise awareness for men’s health.
