Jason Farley, PhD, MPH, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, AACRN has been installed as the inaugural Leadership and Innovation Endowed Chair at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
Funded anonymously, the chair will support the school’s Diversity Signature Initiative to recognize exemplary nurse scholars from racial, ethnic, and gender minority groups, bolster a diverse workforce, and improve health outcomes among underrepresented communities and populations.
Jason Farley is a professor of nursing, an infectious disease-trained nurse epidemiologist, and a nurse practitioner in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins Schools of Nursing and Medicine. He specializes in HIV/AIDS and has long worked in pandemics. Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, he told former Dean Patricia Davidson, ‘This is the moment I trained my whole life for.’
Says Dean Sarah Szanton, who graduated from the same Johns Hopkins School of Nursing PhD cohort as Dr. Farley, “No step has ever been too big for Jason Farley in the fight for a better world.”
