1945

Gertrude Mitchell developed and managed a center for mentally challenged children in Charles County, MD. At age 94, she now lives comfortably in a retirement community

1950

At age 90, Cora Lawrence, PhD, continues her active career as nurse educator, and still consults on nursing education, practice, and history projects.

1955

Mary Ann Peterson’s varied career included teaching student nurses in Africa, prison ministry, and co-authoring the textbook on coronary care nursing. Now, she enjoys gardening, reading, and exercising.

1960

55 years after graduating from Johns Hopkins, Barbara Orecchio Oranski recently retired from her position as Director of Health, Geriatric Services in Boulder, CO, where she will stay to be close to family members who live in the area.

1965

Karen Guertler continues to teach Alexander Technique and, after discovering her artistic talent three years ago, she creates and sells cards made from drawings through the Art from the Heart program in Baltimore. Patricia Trump served 22 years in active duty in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps and now volunteers her time with hospice care, veteran’s organizations, and organizing medical mission trips.

1970

After a long career as a bedside nurse in the ER and urgent care, Terry Lavell now volunteers at a horse therapy facility for adults and children with various difficulties. M. Frances Keen continues to work part time as an online instructor for the Villanova University College of Nursing. She enjoys traveling and has built houses with Habitat for Humanity in Kenya and Malawi.

1990

Kelli Kidwell Garber has been working as a pediatric nurse practitioner since 1996, and is now the first school-based telehealth nurse practitioner for the Medical University of South Carolina.

1995

Melissa Rossi has worked as a neonatal RN at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford for the past 10 years and has traveled to Africa to work with medical missions.

2000

Class Ambassador Sarah Gauger lives in North Carolina and works as a family nurse practitioner and as a clinical instructor at the Duke University School of Nursing.

2005

Nicole Conklin is a nurse officer in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. She is currently studying for her MPH at the University of Minnesota while working as an investigator for the FDA and raising three young sons. Caroline Cohen Lindsley has worked as a Hospice RN since 2007, and volunteers her time to work with a Tanzanian baby home and as a NICU cuddler. After eight years as a med/surg RN, Dana Morse switched to the Emergency Department. She now works at the only Level 1 Trauma center in a four-state area (Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana). She completed her first 100-mile trail run last year.

2010

Taylor Beauregard Kelamis is fulfilling the requirements to take the exam to become a certified medical interpreter (Spanish language) and pursuing an FNP degree online while raising her toddler and expecting a second child. Anastasia Pharris works in Sweden on HIV/AIDS surveillance for the European Centers for Disease Control.
