too cool not to share!!

Normally I wait two weeks between posts, but this was too good…

My patient had part of her forearm resected on her tongue… FOREARM. TONGUE.

She had tongue cancer on the right side of her tongue, had that removed,  had the flesh of her forearm resected and used as the new right half of her tongue, primarily using the radial artery for perfusion throughout.

I felt her pulse on her tongue. A PULSE ON HER TONGUE.

Medicine is so amazing!!!!!!!

What’s more amazing is this woman can eat, swallow, and go about her life instead of enduring chemo and radiation that might have not even worked.

Had to share.

Have a lovely weekend.
