Five JHSON Students and Faculty Win STTI Awards

The Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society has announced five Johns Hopkins School of Nursing faculty and students as recipients of awards and grants ahead of its 28th Research Congress. The recipients were recognized for research, publications, studies, or induction into the STTI Researchers Hall of Fame. Please help us in congratulating:

Elizabeth Sloand PhD, RN, PNP-BC, FAAN, Associate Professor and Department Chair of Acute and Chronic Care has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the Audrey Hepburn Award for Contributions to the Health and Welfare of Children. Her work is an excellent reflection of the nursing profession and will be honored at the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) 44th Biennial Convention, 28 October – 1 November 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

Nancy Sullivan, DNP,RN,  Assistant Professor and author of Medical-Surgical Nursing: Making Connections to Practice has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the Capstone International Nursing Book Award. Your work is an excellent reflection of the nursing profession and will be honored at the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) 44th Biennial Convention, October 28 – November 1, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

Chao Hsing Yeh, PhD, MSN, RN, Associate Professor, has been awarded an STTI Research Grant for her study “Development of an Auricular Point Acupressure Smartphone Application to Self-Manage Chronic Low Back Pain”

Michelle Patch, MSN, APRN-CNS, ACNS-BC, SON PhD Student and STTI Nu Beta Chapter Vice President has been awarded an STTI Research Grant to fund her dissertation study “Emergency Nursing and Health Care Responses to Strangled Women Seeking Care: A Mixed Methods Study of Diagnostic and Treatment Processes”. 

Dr. Cheryl Dennison Himmelfarb, PhD, RN, ANP, FAAN, FAHA, FPCNA and other esteemed nurse researchers from throughout the world will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during STTI’s 28th International Nursing Research Congress.

Congratulations to all recipients for their extraordinary work! The 28th STTI Research Congress will be held in Dublin, Ireland, from July 27-31, 2017.
