Center for Global Initiatives Podcast; Episode 5, Dean Davidson and the Syrian Refugee Crisis
Check out this month’s Center for Global Initiatives podcast, featuring the dean of the school of nursing, Dr. Patricia Davidson. Dean Davidson talks to hosts Elyse Rudemiller and Anne Schultz about the Syrian conflict and refugee crisis, as well as her work with Hopkins graduate Dr. Pandora Hardtman who is working with the UNFPA Syrian border cross operations to strengthen health systems and increase capacity development. She also discusses privilege and responsibility, what it means to be a Hopkins nurse, being globally minded, and how individuals can get involved—even if it just means sending a note of support to health care workers on the ground, or using personal social media accounts to bring attention to the issue.
